Director, Anne Bitton, studied French with subsidiary  German at the University of Leicester, graduating with a high 2:1 (Honours) in 1987. She specialised in Mediaeval French literature and Linguistics, also completing a dissertation relating to her stay in Alsace, eastern France. 

This period abroad, spent near Strasbourg, helped Anne to become fluent in French, as well as enabling her to make regular visits to Germany. 

Twenty years of teaching and working in middle management in secondary schools in the Derby area equipped Anne well to move on and establish her own business.

The French Corner was formed in February 2008. By August 2008, the business had developed into The Language Corner Limited, although The French Corner is still used as a trading name. 

We now work with companies, organisations, educational establishments and individuals to provide bespoke French language tuition, professional  French translation, French nterpreting services and French language consultancy in Derby, Nottingham, throughout the Midlands and the rest of the U.K.
